Not so many people use a bicycle although it has many benefits. Why? How to encourage people to use bicycles as a main transport?

It is true that few individuals cycle despite knowing its advantages. There are a number of reasons behind this tendency, and several solutions should be adopted to improve this situation.
There are two primary reasons why the bike is intensely favorable to people’s health as well as the environment, but many people do not use it. One reason is that most people want to save journey time. In a hectic pace of life, most people are busy working; therefore, they tend to choose vehicles which can help them save time to travel because they do not want to spend too much time traveling. As a result, they decide to use private vehicles such as motorbike or car for the reason that they are more immensely convenient and time-saving than bikes. Furthermore, riding request riders to have good health. For example, it is not good for a person who is not healthy to travel a long distance by bicycle, especially on a hot day.
Fortunately, several measures could be taken to encourage citizens to use bikes as a main transport. The first solution would be for governments to introduce laws to limit the number of private vehicles and to build many new roads which are only for riders in some particular areas. This could lead to an increasing number of people riding bikes to their jobs. A second measure would be to encourage public people to use bikes to travel, at least one day per week, to improve their health and protect the environment. In order to conduct this, governments could give a small reward for those who did well to encourage citizens to take part in.
In conclusion, it is clear that there are various reasons for this phenomenon, and steps need to be proposed to tackle this problem.
