My essay:
The bar chart compares the quantity of people in two genders enrolling in full-time or part-time study for futher education in Britain in 1970/71,1980/81 and 1990/91.
Overall, it is evident that the number of British people taking part in two modes of education all witnessed an upward trend .However, part-time education was the most popular among male and female students.
Initially, there were 1000000 males studying part-time, followed by a gradual decrease of approximately 200000 in 1980/81. Whereas, the figure for females increased by 100000 to 900000 during the same period. In the final period, the number of women participating in part-time education saw a leap to a little less than 1200000, exceeding that of men, which was roughly 900000.
In addition, only 100000 British males chose to study full-time, higher than the figure for the opposite gender in 1970/71 (at 50000).Between 1980/81 and 1990/91, both sexes underwent a growth in the total quantity and finally hit the same peak of 300000.
