Please help me check my essay. English is so difficult for me

It is important to consider how to solve the traffic and pollution problems that many countries are experiencing. Although some people feel raising the price of petrol is the most efficient method to solve these issues, others argue that this method is far from being the best and I strongly agree. In addition to discussing my opinion in this essay, I will recommend effective and efficient measures.

To begin with, if governments of various countries instruct owners of petrol stations to increase the price of petrol, it will most likely not reduce the rate at which people buy petrol, and thus it will not solve those problems. In other words, almost everyone has realised that petrol is the only thing that can fuel their vehicles, and walking long distances everyday to save cost is practically impossible, so people will buy petrol no matter what it costs. In Ghana, for example, when the price of petrol was increased, the problems of high volume of traffic and environmental pollution were still present because the citizens continued buying and using petrol. It is, therefore, safe to assume that if this is done anywhere, it will have a similar effect.

So how should we tackle this problem? Construction of wider roads and educating citizens on the dangers of environmental pollution can reduce traffic and pollution issues, which are becoming more and more common. To illustrate, countries such as France, America, and Germany experienced a significant reduction in the volume of traffic after roads in those countries were widened. Furthermore, surveys have revealed that most people who pollute the environment do so because they are not aware of the harmful effects of pollution. Hence, educating people on these effects should be enough to solve the issue of pollution.

Overall, increasing the price of petrol to tackle tackle traffic and pollution issues will be inefficient because the action is not going to prevent people from using petrol, and constructing wider roads and educating citizens on pollution are effective ways to address this problem
