Some say that family is the most powerful influence on child development however others believe that other factors are equally important in influencing child development.

What is your opinion?

There are those who opine that family is the most important factor in child development however others think other factors play a major role in it. I do believe that family is the most significant contributor to child development.

The most logically compelling reason in favour of the opinion that family exerts the greatest influence on child development is that in general only family can provide sustainable financial support for education for a long time from primary school to university. For example, families with low income may not be able to send their children to most best schools to receive excellent education. As a result, their children are highly likely to end up learning at schools with limited resources and later in life become blue-collar workers who receive low salaries. If these children are coming from affluent family, they will likely receive first-class education with probably the best teachers and coaches, which results in good cognitive development of children

Another bona fide reason in strong support of this notion is that family's exercise habit and diet very likely affect in particular physical child development. For example, children belong to families with regular exercise and well-balanced diet can develop healthy lifestyles, which leads to excellent physical development of children.

A further sound reason in favour of this idea is that emotional child development largely depends on bonds between parents in particular mother and their children from the moment a child is born. If children are raised in foster home, they can become potentially adults with profound lack of emotion. As a result, supportive families can assist much better child emotion development.

In conclusion, child development is a topic which is obviously relevant to modern society. I am of the opinion that family is the sole factor in good child development.
