Some people believe that the optimal way to get news is to read newspapers, while others hold the opinion that other media platforms would be more effective for ones to obtain updated information. I would argue that getting news via social networking websites would surpass the conventional one.

Advocates of newspapers would indicate that reading news through a piece of paper can be more relaxed and pleasant than reading on social media. It is because when reading newspapers, ones would not be exposed to the phones or computers screens which generate blue lights directly to their eyes as when reading via the social website. Thus, it cannot trigger reduced eyesight, except for reading in the dark. Moreover, newspapers are usually under strict censorship of the officials before being published. This would make the information more appropriate, reducing the exposure to abusive or violent news.

However, I believe that reading via other media platforms is better than reading traditional newspapers. First, with news available on the Internet, it is more convenient for people to read the news. It is because ones can read news whenever they want, compared to the conventional way, people would have to bring pieces of newspapers with them to read. Second, not being censored before posted on the Internet does not mean that news on websites is not trustworthy. For example, BBC News on the Internet is a national media platform with the information carefully checked and is suitable for anyone.

In conclusion, although some people believe that newspapers are the best modes of information, I would opine that there are other social media platforms which help people get news better than the news on papers.
