Topic: Development of technology are causing environmental problems. Some people think the solution is that everyone should accept a simpler life, while other believe that technology can solve these problem. Discuss both view and give your opinion.

The negative impact on environment of the improvements of technology are becoming more serious. Although some people think that the less depends on sophisticated engines and live a simple life is only solution. In my opinion, I believe that the advantages of these innovations could address those environment issues.

On the one hand, the use of technology in industry, agriculture and other human activities is a cause of the upsurge of the amount of carbon dioxide in air which is the culprit of various negative phenomenon such as air pollution, global warming and the enhancement of natural greenhouse effect; even people could realize that. A typical example is Earth Hour campaign, which is a symbolic action to encourage individual, organizations and communities turn off the electrical light for one hour and purport to raise awareness of society about saving energy and reducing environmental issues of the electrical device.

On the other hand, the innovations of technology in the last decade have contributed to environmental protection. Firstly, to cut carbon emission, scientists have invented various products which are eco-friendly such as electrical car. Secondly, many new inventions and discoveries in technology are used to figure out new materials and solution to alleviate plastic pollution which is a big burden of ecosystem nowadays. A concrete example is a new discovery of scientist about body structure of a worm. This worm can digest and transform plastic into their nutrient. With the development of biotechnology, the breeding this worm will become the significant solution of over 5 billion tons of unrecyclable plastic in the future.

Taking all of this into account, the simpler life is not the unique choice to prevent the environment issues because the advances of technology in the future could tackle these problems.
