Some people say that too much attention and too many resources are given in the protection of wild animals and birds.

Do you agree or disagree about this opinion?

It is argued that protecting wild animals and birds is attracting too much concern and too many resources of society. I completely disagree with this point of view.

There are two main reasons why I think people have paid too little attention to the protection of animals and birds. One reason is that absurd notions about wild animals and birds still exist and are accepted by many people. For example, there are an alarming number of elephants and rhinoceros are being killed every year because their horns are believed to be rare and have cancer-curing properties, while in fact, they are just like fingernails, made of agglutinated hair. This is the result of propagation not being effective. Furthermore, people are still caring too much about industrial development so they do not hesitate to cut down trees or build plantations, which leads animals to the verge of extinction because of diminishing habitat. Hence, only by strongly focusing on this issue, people can become more aware of the imperative necessity of that and behave more responsible and involved.

In addition, spending too many resources on protecting wild animals and birds is not a waste of money. As we already know wild animals and birds play an important role in biodiversity. As a result, losing certain species of animals causes to an imbalance in the ecosystem, which will affect the food cycle, soil contents, and other non-biotic aspects, which can lead to disastrous consequences. Additionally, the preservation of wildlife also benefits human in many ways such as the study of wild animals supports the development of certain medications. For example, raw Ptarmigan breast meat is eaten by chronically ill people who have lost their appetite. Therefore, the expenditure on protecting and saving animals is, in fact, for ourselves.

In conclusion, I certainly believe that protecting wild animals and birds should be our top priorities in this modern world.
