Well..I`m thinking about giving students a detective story to solve in groups.I hope this groupwork activity would stimulate students.I do not know the stages,I believe they could be:preparation,presentation,follow -up??

You need to be more specific with the stages than that. What are the steps for the whole process? E.g.:

1. Divide the class into groups of 4 or 5
2. Give each group one section of the story, "Murder at Midnight".
3. etc.

OK.I will try..
First I will ask the students if they ever heard about a famous crime,which has never been solved,then I will divide the class in groups of three and tell them that they will solve a mystery.
group1-you are the police,group2-you are the detectives,group3 -you are the neighbors.
One student from group 3 finds a person killed in his house,he announces his neighbors and together decide to call the police.
One student from group 1 is the officer in duty who will answer the phone and he will announce his parteners about the murder.
One student from group 2 goes to the murder`s place and asks questions to the neighbors:
``Who called the police?What time did you enter the house and find the person here?
Do you know this person well? Do you know his friends?Can you give more details about his friends?``
Stages:preparation(I prepare the students for the activity),presentation(the students present the activity),follow-up(I will ask the students to imagine they are reporters and I will ask them to write an article about the murder)
Something like that...I`m not sure if it is how it should be...

Yes, that's a good rough draft. Now, clean up the grammar and punctuation and make it more formal because it is a written assignment, and put it into a neat set of steps (1, 2, 3, etc). Then check that you have responded to the 5 points of your assigned task.
