&

Would you mind + if + past simple?

& Which is correct (I ask "past simple or present simple" )

Would you mind closing the window? = Will you please....?

Would you mind if I closed the window? = I'd like to close the window. Is that okay with you?

The basic difference is the person doing the action specified.
