Please help me!

change the following sentence into passive:

My father let me watch TV every morning

=> "I'm let to watch TV every morning "OR "I'm let watch TV every morning"

Which is right?

Hi, I would say "I am allowed to watch TV every morning", maybe. I don't think I would ever try to change a sentence with "let" into a passive version, but maybe it's just me. I don't think I have ever seen the passive version...

Thank everyone ! I know that we can use " Be allowed to V " in passive voice instead of"Let ..". But in this case I must use "LET". So help me point out the true sentense!

This is not a good example for passive transformation.

Allowed - is the word choice. Let -is not a word choice in passive usage.

Oh the problem is that . Someone say we can use usually LET in passive voice , someone say we can't.????

No one is saying to use "let" in the passive. All three of us are saying to use "allowed" in the passive.

Perhaps this is an American thing, since I am a native speaker of American English and Goodman and Kooyeen are both American-oriented.

Perhaps in British English, to say "I was let to..." is quite normal. It would sound completely wrong in American English. I cannot give you

Hi GG,

We all agreed, the sentence in question sounded completely wrong. What do you think of this particular context?

A -Why is the kitchen all wet and muddy?

B -The dog was let in last night because it started to pour in buckets.

To be let to watch TV is just aweful..

If this is a class assignment, it is not a good one. Answer "I'm let to watch ..."

No, you would never hear "I was let to..." in British English either.

oh . That is interesting. There are many opinions about this problem . I have some books refering to passive :

*? Infinitives placed after passive verbs are normally full infinitives:

Active We saw them go out. He made us work.

Passive They were seen to go out. We were made to work.

let,
