Please Help me

I want to know which of these sentences is correct:
I'm used to wake up early every morning, or I'm used to waking up early every morning.
Please explain why.
Thanks a lot and best regards,

Sure thing. The phrase "used to", in this context, means "familiar with", so it expects to be followed by a noun. For instance, "I'm used to aeroplanes" would be the same usage.

  • So, what follows it has to be a noun, or a noun phrase.
  • Of your two choices, "wake up" is a verb, and "waking up" is a noun - so "waking up" has to be correct.

Rommie, you've done a wonderful job as always. I appreciate it.

Guest,

If you, somehow, would like to maintain "wake up" as a verb in the sentence, just drop "am" after "I'.

Then, it reads, "I used to wake up early every morning." The meaning is almost the same as I would wake up early every morning, but it denotes a 'consistent habit' in the past.
