please help, mass nouns

I have a question about plural nouns in English

1.When I am abroad I need a calculator to work out my currency conversions.
2.They dreamed of finding hidden treasure in the ruins of the ship.

"conversion" in first sentence and "treasure" in the second one are both mass nouns, but why conversion end with "s" treasure not?

If there any rule to classify nouns? Thanks!
