please help here

The indirect statement of the sentence 'He said, "Jack may be working now" is 'he said that Jack might be working then'. Is it correct?
b. The indirect statement of the sentence 'he said, "Jack should be working now" is 'he said that Jack should have been working then'. Is it correct?
C. The indirect statement of the sentence 'he said, "Jack could be in his office now" is 'he said that Jack could have been in his office'. Is it correct?

Also my grammar book says the modal verbs such as could, might, should sometimes aren't changed to could/might/should+ have+ past participle while changing from direct to indirect, why is that? Please explain.
