I would like to request for a month's vacation sometime in December and January. I am planning to visit home after a long time. The final dates and flight has not yet been confirmed, I will keep you posted.

Hi simply, and welcome to English Forums. You may need to be more precise. "Four weeks" is not necessarily "a month" in terms of vacation hours, but either way, I assume you have accrued enough vacation that you have this much time to take.

- Also, it's not really your place to tell the boss to arrange for a temp to fill in for you.
- If your leave is approved, then the right steps will be taken; you don't need to mico-manage your own boss about how to do her job, which is to make sure the work gets done.
