Please help correct these sentences?

Could you please help me make these natural and help with the blankets if the sentences is natural to begin with?

1 You need a knife with a blade sharp enough to cut (through) the bread.
2 Which room are you checking out?
3 It's not only the last day of the month ____ the last day of the year.
4 Hopefully life will get better.
5 She wakes up an hour before she is ___ to start work.
6 That code is specific to our hotel./There is a specific code for each hotel.

For 1 is it natural to leave 'through"?-- That's why I left it.
for 6 Which is more natural to you?-- They are both natural to me.

* You need a sharp knife to cut the bread.

"Need" and "through" are not necessary.
