Recently we have had a discussion as to how to make English learning fun and interesting. Opinions vary from individual to individual.
Some suggest enhancing interactions between teachers and students in English learning, which can effectively encourage participation. Others advocate participating in more after-class activities, such as speech contests and English evenings, which can not only arouse our interest in learning English, but also expand our horizon. Still others point out that, contrary to the currently popular belief in exam-oriented teaching, the core of English learning is communication. Therefore, what really counts is the four basic skills — listening, speaking, reading and writing, which is far more meaningful than simply doing multiple choices. As far as I am concerned, there are many other approaches to boosting our interest, such as watching movies or enjoying English songs. Remember: Follow what you think suits you best and you will find learning English productive and enjoyable!
