please help

I hope you could help me with the following sentence:

-----------------------
The major better-for-you attribute of chocolate confectionery focuses on psychological wellbeing, and as a “treat food” the category is finding that it has to compete with a range of other categories
-----------------------

I don't understand what the last part means.
Does it mean that there are lots of other foods that are also good for psychological wellbeing and bought as treat foods, and chocolates have to compete with them?

Also does "treat food" refer to something you eat when, for example, after a hard day of work?
