Hi! everyone. I read the below para in a website. Its an explanation intended to make us understand the phrase "in realtion to". Could you tell me whether my understanding of the coloured lines at the end are correct? Imagine two ships that are about half a mile apart, and are travelling at the same speed in the same direction. To a passenger on one of those ships, the other ship will appear not to be moving. Therefore, they are maintaining their positions in relation to each other, even if they're moving in relation to a fixed point (let's say Portsmouth in the UK). I understand it to mean-Therefore they are at the same position when compared to each other, even if they are non-stationary in relation to a fixed point or when observed from a fixed point or destination. Is my understanding correct? Thanks!
