Please help!

Question

I have to write a personal supporting statement on my applications for postgraduate studies telling them why do I wish to take a particular course and how does it fit into my career objectives.
Are there any sample statements in this site or anywhere else in the internet?
I find it a little bit difficult and I would appreciate your help!

Dear MH
I have just checked Soufiane's letter,but I think it's something different from what I need to write on my application.
On the application forms for entrance in UK universities,there is a single page where I have to support my will to take the particular course. My opinion is that I must not write a biographical essay,giving details of my life like where I was born,or details about my family.
Moreover, I think that there is no need to give in this essay an emotional background,like Soufiane did.
I think that I have to post a short essay,answering the specific topic,explaining my career ambitions,and in which way would my studies help me for this.
Maybe applying to USA differs from applying to UK universities.
Whats your opinion?

I went through Nantine's motivation letter,and I really find it much more helpful.
I have to search for reasons why studying Statistics though... But having a general idea of the statement's form,its a good start.

Each university will be different. You have to think what makes the most sense to you.
