Please go on...

Hi,

Say there is a discussion, and someone is in the middle of talking, but say, I interrupt him, because I have different viewpoints. So what if I want to tell him to go on with his opinion again after telling him my viewpoint, do I say, "please carry on what you have been saying?"

Thanks in advance.

Mister Micawber's sentence is grammatically correct but (in a real situation) I would say "Sorry, please carry on" or simply "Sorry" with a hand gesture to indicate "continue" - a typical "after you" gesture where the palm of the hand is shown.
