Please give some advices

hi everybody !!! i am new comer of EnglishForward.com . Oh , i wish i had known this page more early . I find this web very exciting . I am orchid , from Viet Nam ( i hope you know my country )  . I like English and i really want to be good at English . I know if i want to be good at something i have to work hard and i think i did .. But i have some difficulties in learning English . i can't pronunciate well . Almost the time , i can't hear anything in tape cripts and what native speakers spoke ....   Please help me !! and if you can , please give me list of pages or webs on net having FREE pronunciation downloading !!!!!  thank a lots

http://dict.leo.org
you can make an inquiry of pronunciation by words. All words who are provided with an "m" you can inquiry. You must only click to the "m".

The best way, to learn the pronunciation is by looking TV. I also want to improve my English. On this account I look every day for ca. one hour CNN or DVD. At first I also understand nothing. But know I understand more and more.

Hi, Orchid...

I agree to the advice of Greece80, you need to watch television and English movies... Try to watch English TV Series regularly, where you can always say what happened last and what will happen next... Your vocabulary will improve too...

Next, go to different bookstore. Find a dictionary where there is instruction on how to pronounce the word....

Another, try to see if there are speech schools there in Vietnam which offers short courses in English Fluency and Pronunciation...

I agree with Chantal that an excellent way to improve your English is to take a course in English pronunciation. Often times, non-native speakers will have excellent vocabulary and grammar, but are still hard to understand by native speakers. This is because the non-native speaker tries to apply the rules and sounds of their native language to the new language and that is one of the reasons why you hear accents.

I would recommend that you take a pronunciation course - from a native speaker, of course. Movies, self-help tapes and books, and dictionaries can only do so much. You can truely benefit if a trained speech professional is pointing out patterns in your speech as to why you are misunderstood.

Yes, trained speech professionals cost money, but you are investing in your future by being able to speak English so others can easily understand you.

Add a quantifier (a lot of, some, much, etc) to advice if you wish to use it as plural.

Changing the 'c' to an 's' makes it a verb. Also remember to pronounce the final sound with a 'z'.

1. I'm going to advise you on this matter.

2. He advises them on what to do.
