The two maps illustrate the change for the centre of a small town called Islip after its development.
Overall, Islip would experience considerable changes. The most noticeable differences between the two maps are the appearance of a dual carriageway and the disappearance of shops on one side of the main road, along with the countryside land behind.
Small streets leading off the main road will be replaced by a new dual carriageway going around Islip town centre. The main road will be restricted to pedestrians only. Many facilities for residents will be built to replace shops. They might be a bus station, shopping centre, car park in ordering from the west to the east. There will be also new housing with a short road accessing the dual carriageway.
The park will be narrowed to have more space to build new housing to the left. To the south of the map, the school and housing will remain unchanged.
