Does covid-19 change students' life for the better or for the worse ?
Several people claim that covid-19 pandemic has a comprehensive influence on student’s lives. From my point of view, they may experience various problems in their life in the new normal.
By virture of high infection rate of covid-19, a large number of countries imposed lockdown, causing schools and other educational institutions to cease funtioning. Students are consequently restricted to only their residence without access to almost any forms of entertainment and face-to-face communication. Unless they are prepared to confront these circumstances, both their physical and mental well-beings can be negatively affected in the long term. School is also the main facility which provide them with human interaction and social life to many students so they may lack the necessary communication to develop resulting from school closures.
In addition, as online learning system is established, students learn through the Internet with technological gadgets. It seems quite true that this study environment lack the necessary direct interaction between tutors and learners while cooperation amongst students is also diminished. There may be, therefore, a considerable decrease in the quality of lessons and therefore students’ school results. Primary children learning the basic knowledge, namely writing letters, reading or arithmetics would have problem achieving them by this study approach since such students do not have teachers to instruct them. Obviously, students encounter a lot of difficulty when it comes to virtual study during this period.
In conclusion, I personally believe that covid-19 has many adversities on students as it has interrupted every facets of their life.
