Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
It is often argued whether it is good to share a huge amount of information in areas like research, business and the academic world. While some people believe that this is true, there are also those who think that some information should not be shared publicly due to its importance or value.
On the one hand, information plays a critical role in the success of many academic researches which benefit our daily life and the development of the society. A research or a business report is a combination of various theories, experiments and statistical data. If it is only based on theories and experiments, it might be quite impractical because of the lack of data related to its field. Therefore, a realistic and up to date database is required to make the research more prestigious, reliable and practical, so that new inventions and high quality products can be brought into our world.
On the other hand, there is certain information which is too valuable and consequential that needs to be kept private. These data might be personal information like one’s phone number, credit card or bank account password and home address. If such information is shared freely on researches, newspapers or social media, it may be unsafe for the owner. For example, when a research on bank accounts’ password conducted using actual data from banks reveals its database publicly, it might be dangerous for the information’s owners. They can be at risk of being bankrupted and this is likely to cause negative effects on their personal and families’ lives.
In conclusion, I reaffirm that it is necessary to use a great number of information in scientific research, business and the academic world. However, data should not be overused in quantity and some information should be kept personal.
