The diagrams below show the existing ground floor plan of a house and a proposed plan for some building work.

The two maps illustrate the current layout of a house and some significant rearrangements in the future.

Overall, the principal changes to the ground floor are the relocation of stairs and the removal of the hall to link the kitchen and the living room.

At present, people enter the house through two entrance doors, one leading to the kitchen and the other to the hall which divides the two main rooms. However, the plan is to demolish an internal wall along the living room to make it connect directly with the entrance and stairs. The stairs will be moved to the north of the house, which is separated from the kitchen by the other internal wall.

Another change is a double internal door leading from the living room to the kitchen, which is situated right on the left-hand side of the entrance door. Additionally, the kitchen will be equipped with some furniture to cater to cooking and eating needs.
