The chart below gives information about the number of social networking sites people used in Canada in 2014 and 2015.

The bar chart compares how many social networking sites Canadians used in two years 2014 and 2015. The six categories shown were from people using no sites to five sites.

Overall, social media were relatively uncommon in Canada, a majority had only one site account. In addition, people tended to have more access to social networks, with the proportions of people using two sites and more showing upward trajectories.

A percentage of 22% of non-social media users was recorded in 2014, and this data did not change much in the next year, at 21%. Less than 40% of people living in Canada used social media over the entire period. One-site users were dominant, starting at well over a third, but it dropped markedly to 28% in 2015. The proportions of people having two social accounts were still the second-highest, ranging between 23% and 24%. The biggest rise of 4% was seen in using three sites, from 12% to 16% in 2015, almost double that of four sites. The Canadians did not prefer creating five accounts, the values were 2% and 4% respectively in 2014 and 2015.
