To serve the rapidly growing population, some countries tend to spend more fund on building new superfast railway networks, whereas other people think that government should focus on improving current public transport. This essay analyses both these views and includes my opinion.
In the one hand, the high speed railway networks provide a safer and faster way to travel intercity. Thus people can save their valuable time to do other tasks instead of driving. Moreover, train also carry a large number of passengers and goods so it helps cities reduce traffic congestion and pollution. For example, subway systems in Japan and China are actually effective in connecting between parts of countries as well as decreasing a number of vehicles in cities. Those reasons cause some people support for constructing new railway lines.
In the other hand, public transportation clearly plays an important role in communicating different areas in city. Since it is a cheap and environment friendly traveling method, many citizens rely on public transport system in their daily moving such as going to school or work by bus and metro. Therefore, many people believe that government should spend budget on upgrading the existing transport facilities in order to encourage mass people set those vehicles as their better option. For example, modern and convenient subway in Singapore is prior transport for their residences.
In conclusion, I think certainly that government should invest national fund into building new effective train system as well as improving the present modes of transport because it is required to deal with traffic congestion and emission.
