Topic: Many countries spend large amounts of money on preparing competitors in major world sporting events such as the Olympic Games and football World Cup. Instead, this money can be spent on encouraging children to take up sports at a young age. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Competitions in major world sporting events take large mount of national budget to plan it, even though that money can be used for finding young talented sports. In my opinion, holding competition world sporting events is important for countries celebrating it, but young gifted athletes should be encouraged to promote their talent.
On the one hand, it is argued that many countries spending money to hold a global championship is wasting. I would argue it was not always waste money. Firstly, the country that celebrates global sport competition has a great opportunity to advertise their culture to the world. When the championship is held in one country; it will attract millions of tourists to visit their country and tourists can have a chance to know more about that country. Secondly, sporting events also create a playground for competitors who can show the world who they are, shine their own star and they can bring aureole to their country. Finally, sporting competitions relate to policalization, it can make the relationship between the country holding the competition and the country joining that competition better and better. In fact, holding a global championship can bring many advantages to the country that celebrates it.
On the other hand, it is true that the government should spend money to find young talented athletes. If we are more concerned about people that have talent in sport at a young age, we can develop that talent. In addition, we encourage children to do sports can improve children’s health and reduce the proportion of obesity in many countries.
In conclusion, global sport events can help the world know more about that country holding it, but the government should take care more about young talented athletes.
