Essay & Composition Writing

Please give me feedback on my IELTS task 1 essay. Thank you.

The Chart below shows the results of a survey about peoples’ coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

The bar chart given demonstrates people’ habits in purchasing and consuming coffee and tea over the last month in five different cities in Australia.

We can see that except for Adelaide, enjoying tea or coffee in cafes was popular with people in the four other cities. Besides, the percentage of Australians buying instant coffee in the last four weeks was higher than fresh coffee in every city.

About 50% and 54% of city residents purchased instant coffee in Adelaide and Hobart respectively, twice as much as the figures for fresh coffee in these cities. Brisbane was the place where the proportion of residents chose instant over fresh coffee ranked second among the five cities in question, with its figure for fresh coffee being the smallest, at nearly 35% - the same as Adelaide. Although the figure for instant coffee in Sydney was the lowest, at only 45%, the percentage of people buying fresh one was the highest, at 43%. The figures for Melbourne were similar to Sydney.

Nearly 65% of city dwellers went to a cafe to drink coffee or tea in Melbourne and Hobart, making the number the highest of the five cities. The figure for Sydney was 4% lower. There was a 6-percent gap between the percentage of people going to cafes in Brisbane and that in Adelaide, with the figure for Adelaide standing at nearly 50%.
