How aluminum cans are recycled are depicted in the flowchart below. Overall, there are six steps in the process starting from collecting the cans, putting in recycling factories to reusing them.

At the beginning of the process, people collect and sort the cans out from other disposal items. Then when cans are brought to the factories, they will be cleaned and sorted again befor shredded and formed into metal blocks. After that, cans are heated inside heating machines at an extremely high temperature for melting.

Moving to the next step, cans are rolled into thin sheets to the thickness of between 2,5mm and 6mm. Then these rolles will be transferred to other companies for recycling purposes and reused at regular markets. Furthermore, the recycled cans are widely used in UK with a positive percentage of 74.
