People believe that organizing an international sports event brings pros and cons for the country.

First of all, it's beneficial for country owing to the fact that we could boost our own reputation from other countries. For example, located in China, Winter Olympics was well-known for its magnificent scenery and became one of the top inviting places for tourism all over the world. Secondly, having hosted a sports event may attract the media from every corner, given chances to be more viral on the network under public opinion. Moreover, being selected to be the host of a global event will catch an eye from popular trademark and endorsement of famous incorporation such as: Coca Cola, Porsche, Pepsi,... Additionally, the athletes are apt to win for home-court advantages with purpose to achieve most medal for their country.

Nonetheless, there are ample shortcomings and controversial opinion put forward. The biggest problem is how much money invested to organize this kind of events? It costs an arm and a leg. According to the statics over 10 years of Olympics host country, each country has spent about 20 billion dollars on average in term of facility, gadgets, accommodation,.. for participants.

In my point of view, I am semi-convinced by the second idea but totally agree with the first statement. I've experienced in a country which is the host of World Cup- France. This event had exerted a strong influence on the people, and even the atmosphere in inner city. Everywhere is crowded, hustle people rushing to come home or coming to queue with desire to have a ticket for limited event. And posters promoting for host's team seemed to be ubiquitous on street lights, on graffiti.

On a nutshell, it's true that being a host of an sports event is a building block for a country to be equivalent to neighborhood.
