please explain the word " NEED not" and "dare" as an auxilary verbs

I got problem when I had solved the problem on error.
Please explain these with examples and also tell why this is error

you................your note books from tomorrow.(here the says that there should be "need not bring")

I dare not....................out side now.(here they say that there should be "go" )

while i was solving the problem i though in the former case "need not bring" and in the second case "to go" should be correct.

I also read that "As an auxiliary it is used mainly in the negative and interrogative forms with direct infinitive"-----Please also explain these line while above sentence taking in the view

In certain contexts need and dare can be used as if they were modal auxiliaries. In such contexts they behave grammatically like can, could; shall, s hould; will, would; may, might and must: I will not go there. I need not go there.

Yes, that is correct. They are restricted to non-affirmative contexts (negatives, interrogatives and related constructions), but ignoring that peculiarity, modal need and dare have virtually all the auxiliary and modal p
