Hi teachers,
Assuming that we know that the person who talks is Eva Hine.
'Three months ago this man–Alex Dinon– killed the President of our country. He’s a murderer–a dangerous man. Twenty-four hours ago he escaped from prison, and our new President wants him back in prison – today! Now! At once!’

When did Eva Hine say their President want Alex Dinon back in prison?
a) He wanted him back in prison, 'Today! Now At once!'.
b) He wanted him back in prison that day, then, at once.

Thanks in advance.

SurferI'm not really sure about these two answers. I'd write: She said he wanted him back in prison that same day, at once.

Thinking SpainIs it also possible to answer, 'She said he wanted him back in prison on that same day, at once.' instead of 'She said he wanted him back in prison that same day, at once.'

SurferFor example, you may well say that you're visiting your friend on Thursday, but I never heared such an expression as 'I'm visiting my friend on today'
Hi surfer,
Thank you for your reply. In this example of yours you are absolutely right; it sounds really awkward.
