The diagram depicts the process of collecting the amount of rainwater and sending for households to use as a drinking water in an Australian town.
Overall, there are three main stages in this process, beginning with collection of precipitation through drains, repeating a stage of treatment underground and ending with resusing as drinking water in residents.
In the first stage of the process, rainwater is collected through gutters and drains and then it is passed along underground drains to the water filter which remove any impurities. Following this, when it has been filtered, it also passes along the pipes to a storage tank.
From the storage tank, it continues along a water treatment where the water is treated with chemicals to make clean for households to drink. And finally, it is also sent through pipes which lead to the homes in the Australian town where people can consume drinking water on a daily basis.
