Overall, there are nine main stages in this process, begining with the collection of corn and ending with the delivery of ethanol fuel.
In the first stage of the process, corn is harvest at a collection point and then stored in warehouses before to ready for milling. During the milling stage, the corn is mixed with water and cooked for 4 hours. Following this is the fermentation step which takes 2 days and is the longest step in the process and the ethanol is produced after this stage.
In the next stage of the process, the liquid ethanol is separated from solid by-product and then it takes 5 hours for the ethanol to be purified to remove any impurities. Finally, the ethanol fuel is stored and transported for seller and ready to be sold.
