The bar chart compares the surveyed people in five Australian cities about their coffee and tea purchasing and drinking habits in the last four weeks. These cities are Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart. Overall, most people preferred buying fresh coffee except for people in Adelaide.
More than 60 percent of surveyed participants in Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart bought fresh coffee in the last four weeks, which was followed by the proportion of people who spent money on instant coffee (45 percent, 48 percent, and 54 percent, respectively). Going to a café for coffee and tea was the least common choice for residents of these three cities with less than 45 percent of the total surveyed respondents.
In Brisbane, the highest share of respondents chose fresh coffee (55 percent), while the figure for people who made the same choice only ranked the second in Adelaide, with just below 50 percent. About 52 percent of Brisbane people bought instant coffee, which is only slightly higher than that of Adelaide (50 percent). The figure of people who participated in this survey went to a café to buy coffee and tea in Brisbane and Adelaide was approximately similar at about 34 percent of the total.
