Watching a live performance such as a play, concert, or sporting event is more enjoyable than watching the same event on television. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Nowadays, as the mass media grows dramatically, more and more people choose to watch a live performance on television. However, many people believe that watching a live performance is more interesting than watching it on television, I totally agree with this point of view.
Obviously, watching performances on television is much more convenient in several ways. First of all, it costs less amount of money. People don’t have to foot the bill for a couple of tickets, yet can enjoy the whole performance. Secondly, it is more comfortable when sitting at home and seeing the performance. Imagine how wonderful it is if you can lie on your couch, eat some snacks and watch your favorite stages.
However, despite all these advantages, watching a show on television has more shortcomings than watching it live in a stadium or a conference. Firstly, sociable audiences have chances to enjoy the feeling of togetherness. There is no doubt that during a concert or a sports game, people can dance and sing along with the performers, and chant for their favorite idol. This makes people feel more enthusiastic, and the show becomes more hectic. Moreover, many people prefer to come to the live show as they have opportunities to meet their idols in the flesh. For a large number of audiences, this is a main factor which makes the live show is more pleasant and attractive,
In conclusion, in spite of economic benefit of watching performances on TV sets, I am certain that watching them live is a far more delightful experience due to the atmosphere it makes and the chances to interact with famous celebrities.
