Topic: The maps show a road system as it is now and the proposed changes in future to reduce the number of accidents.

My essay:

The two maps illustrate some proposed changes that are to take place in a road system in order to reduce the number of traffic accidents.

Overall, the most notable change taking place in the road system is the addition of a roundabout and some traffic lights.

On the west side of the road system, it was the intersection of City Road and Low Lane that often occurred accidents. In the future, four traffic lights will be put at four corners to regulate the volume of vehicles. Also, the Low Lane will be straightened to reduce the collisions that happened in the narrow isthmus leading to Forest Road.

On the east side of the road system, the most radical change is that a new roundabout is going to be constructed in the junction of the two main roads namely City Road and Forest Road. Thus, traffic accidents are unlikely to happen frequently. Another important change is that a small road which connects the roundabout to the supermarket will be built. Therefore, drivers can go directly to the supermarket instead of going through City Road, thereby reduce accidents.
