WRITING TASK 2

Write about the following topic.

Rich countries often give money to poorer countries, but it does not solve poverty. Therefore, developed countries should give other types of help to the poor countries rather than financial aid.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Each country has it’s own problems to deal with. Poverty is one such issue usually faced by economically backward nations. Although rich countries show a gesture of goodwill by donating money to poor nations, not much is emphasised on how the financial aid is being used by the recipient.

Firstly, an observation is, countries who are economically challenged usually have other problems too, for example: corruption and bad governance. Under such circumstances a huge doubt arises if the financial aid reached the grass root levels. Secondly, in my opinion, anything which is not hard earned would be undervalued. This easy money can make people lazy and raise their expectations to gain more and more effortlessly.

There is a good saying “today’s children are tomorrow’s citizens”. Countries willing to extend help can consider educational aid to children of countries suffering from poverty. These young minds use the help provided to the fullest and flourish to steer the nation being good citizens. Another good area to invest for an aid is healthcare. Health people often horde health ideas. An old saying goes “health is wealth”. Providing healthcare aid to poor nations is equivalent to giving money.

To sum up, it is a good gesture to provide help and share resources between countries. Having said that, help through kind and means is better than help using cash. So, I agree that developed nations should consider different means of help.

I have noted an obvious mistake of not having 250 words in the essay, but i request review comments on the other criteria of IELTS evaluation of writing task 2.
