The bar graph reveals how many people came to Australia from Japan, China, New Zealand, and the US between 2010 and 2017.
Overall, only the Chinese showed an increased interest in Australia, while New Zealand had the highest numbers, followed by America and Japan.
As the data suggests, in 2010 the majority of visitors, 1,2 million, came to Australia from New Zealand, a third of that number came from the US, and Japan and China supplied 300,000 each. The growth of the figure for visits from New Zealand increased only marginally, by 100,000 in 2011 and by 150,000 in the last three years of the period. Similarly, only a slight rise was observed among Americans, as only after 2015 they started to travel to Australia more often, namely by 50,000.
In contrast, the Japanese numbers, despite being the lowest, went through a dip to 200,000 travellers in 2014, returning to just above the initial level at 260,000 visits in 2017. -The visits from China, however, not only soared but also became the highest in 2017.
