Please could someone kindly look over my motivation letter?

I basically wrote this out for a really important internship programme that could help me start my career in the humanitarian field. I'm not good at writing motivation letters and this is the first job Im going for. I'd be extremely grateful if someone could look over this and give me any feedback! Dear Sir/Madam,

I am pursuing an international career in the humanitarian field and I would be grateful for the opportunity to participate in the ...... Internship programme.

I graduated with a BSc in Psychology in July 2003 from the University of xxxx, and am currently on the process to finishing my MA in Diplomacy, due end of September 2005, at the University of xxxxx. My degree involved various courses on the wide array of Diplomacy, ranging from the international relations and security studies, history and the international legal system. The emphasis of my studies was understanding the mechanism and principles underlying the international political arena and the global order. I chose to study Diplomacy because I have always been fascinated by the complexity of international relations and politics, and I believe that my studies towards my degree enabled me to understand and appreciate the fundamental process of the international scene. Since the time when I was in high school, I have never lost sight of my long term goal: to work for International Organisations in the humanitarian field and participate in the global effort to eradicate poverty, disaster and alienation.

Since I am very enthusiastic about humanitarianism, my thesis, carried out under the supervision of Prof. xxxx, includes an analysis on the current state of the Human Security debate, and importance in order to achieve the Millennium Goal to eradicate poverty by 2015. In the course of preparing my thesis, I acquired a particular interest in Human/Sustainable Development and Human Security. Moreover, what has primarily affected my decision to follow a career path in the humanitarian field was my participation in a coordinated project with an NGO xxxx in Nepal in 19xx, and my internship with the UNxxxx in 2xxx. During the internship, I worked under the minimal supervision of a Senior Desk Officer, Mr. xxxxx and Mr. xxxx at the Bureau for xxxx. What I gained from this internship was an awareness of the obstacles and difficulties that UNxxxx face in carrying out their mandate across diverse ethnic, political and social environments.

As a half Swiss and half Japanese national, who has lived in various distinct cultural, social and religious environment and setting, equipped with a working knowledge in English and French, as well as basic knowledge in Spanish, Japanese, Russian and German, I believe that I possess the necessary quality and trait to pursue a professional career in development and the humanitarian field.
