Hello! I am currently applying for a volunteering aboard program and I am not quite sure if I am on the right track for one of its questions. Please could someone help and check it for me?

Have you had experience of adapting to another culture? If yes, please describe.
I had an opportunity to stay with a host family on the outskirts of Paris for two weeks when I was 13. This allowed me to experience how a local lives in Paris and gave me a general idea of their lifestyles, cuisines and beliefs. It was an unforgettable experience. This experience taught me that trying to appreciate the differences between your country and the host country is not the most difficult part in adapting to a new culture. The hardest part is trying not to see the culture with the eye of an outsider.
