What benefits do you think tourism brings to individuals and society?

In recent years, tourism has been a significant source of revenue of many countries around the world. It has created jobs and made the people more open to different cultures and beliefs.

Undeniably, tourism is a thriving industy and many people around the world are taking advantage of the opportunities it offers. It has created various jobs ranging from massage therapists to tour guides. As a result, many people are now financially stable and able to support their family. In the island of Pattaya, for example, almost 90% of the people were unemployed and impoverished 30 years ago. The last few decades saw a steady rise of the tourism industy in the island. As a result, more than half of the people are now working in various establishments related to tourism. With people having a stable income, many have been uplifted from extreme poverty. Now, residents of Pattaya have a brighter future more than ever.

Aside form financial success, tourism has made society and its people more tolerant of each other's beliefs. It has brought people of different nationalities as well as their religions, customs and traditions together. The island of Pattaya, for instance, boasts of a multicultural society. In there, it is quite common to see asians mingling with caucasians and black people and vice versa. They regularly share their thoughts and culture while enjoying each other's company. This results in harmonious relationship of different races. People understand each other and live peacefully, despite differences.

In conclusion, tourism has had a positive impact on the people and society. I believe it has enriched the lives of many people financially and created a multicultural society.
