Please correct these sentences with present perfect tenses

Hi. Please correct these sentences with present perfect tenses. Thank you in advance.

1. It's sad . They are young but they have decided to end their lives early. We should put a stop to school violence.
2. Once they had finished what she had asked them to do, they have started to do what I asked them to do.
3. I see you made a lot effort, yet you have made a lot of mistakes. Please learn from them.

Would these be correct? I think I saw a sentence that had past perfect in the subordinate clause (I think it is) and present perfect in the main clause.

eg,
1. Once he had finished eating, he went out.
2. Once he finished eating, he went out.

Once, in these sentences means after.
The first sentence stresses that the activity (eating) was over, done, final, completed, ended, etc.
The second does not have that same stress on the completion of the activity.
