Please correct these sentences
Can I be enlightened of the following sentences as to which one among the
four parentheses is grammatically wrong? And why?
1. Transportation (has been) one of the (major causes) of hunger among the
developing countries, (much) of which have to depend on enough trucks
or trains (to convey) extra food to the villages.
2. The authorities (were determined) (to discover) the identity of the
murderer, (whom) they feared would soon claim (another) innocent victim.

First of all, sorry to have got you misled on this.
The above two sentences were quoted from TOFEL. In each sentence, only
one among the four parenthesis was not properly used. You seemed to reword
them in all brackets to the best expression; but it might not be the best fit for
TOFEL's purpose.
