I met Mark when he was in my Introductory General Chemistry lab course. As a Teaching Assistant, I oversaw the activities of the students when conducting experiments and was able to interact with Mark.
Mark has been participating in many activities on and off campus while achieving a high grade in my class. He was good at communicating with his team members and also contributed to the discussion of the class and the team with thoughtful answers and questions. I was impressed by his curiosity in exploring the underlying concepts of the experiments and his critical skills in interpreting the data and included my input in his thought process to troubleshoot experiments.
I believe that Mark would be an excellent addition to Echols program. His qualities align well with your mission, which is to uphold the curiosity and learning new things. This opportunity will help Mark grow his mindset, encourage further learning and help him determine his ultimate desire and navigate his career path.
