Please correct the following short text.

In the following sentence which came in the story, we find that Oliver should gives them more than they give him.
” Pray for the people who feed you and take care of you –like a Christian” said the gentlemen.
Even the workhouse, which should be the institution that takes care the children, but we see it leave them hungry with little food and push theme to the work in early age.

Thank you very much for correction,In fact this is a part of book review for Oliver Twist and it is sure they (workhouse) do not currently used.
