We seem to know a lot, and knowing a lot sometimes does not help much. Or it just happens that we know something is not correctly done, and we try to correct it with another way, which we do not know its consequences.
I thought about above as I read the article To Dream in Different Culture where its author wrote about a scientist experience of living with the Toraja in a small village in the Indonesia island of Sulawesi.
According to the article, the Toraja sleep in groups, and often they do not have a good long stretch of sleep, but nobody complains. Meanwhile, we know that having an eight-hour sleep is really important, as many may believe, and we get mad or think: it is a problem if we were disturb during our sleep. We even invest buying expensive mattress and get more stress failing to sleep well after all of those investments.
