00 Although I had been excellent in senior high school, and was smoothly admitted into the best International Trade department in China, in my university I faced difficulties in math, which was far beyond my expectation. Because of differences in teaching modes, I could not adapt to the loose way of Math teaching. As I had been used to learning Math under teacher’s strict instructions, in university without supervision from teachers, I was totally at loss. Consequently, I got a dissatisfying score 00 final exam of Calculus I. Affected by the epidemic of SARS, I did even worse in Calculus II. 02 br

00 At that time, there is a prevalent opinion among students: even if many girls can do well in high school just depending on memory, they will finally be reduced to mediocrities for they can not learn by themselves. “Have I reached my ceiling of intelligence?” I kept asking myself. Whatever the answer is, I can not give up without any struggle. I consulted teachers and classmates proper methods to learn Math well, and spent much more time than my classmates on repeatedly experimenting, summarizing and adjusting those methods. Gradually, not only did I find suitable learning ways, but also became interested in Math. When I scored 00 Leaner Algebra, I was really gratified. Moreover, after thoroughly reviewed Calculus, Statistics and Linear Algebra, I attained 137 of 150 total in Math examination of the Graduate Entrance Examination, which greatly built my confidence in my self-learning ability. 02 br
