Please correct sentence

Please can you correct grammatically and structurally ?
Have I used the correct words and is it correct?
Plastic bottles can be altered physically by hot water, scratched whereas glass can't change in appearance.

You don't want her in the lying position nor upright position but in middle position not to lying not too upright when giving the bottle.

You want her in neither the upright nor in the lying position, but somewhere in between when giving her the bottle. I'm not sure your comparison of glass and plastic bottles is correct in the first place. Try "cleaning it up" a bit as to what you want to say, exactly, and then repost it.
